TRANSPORTATION SERVICES

Hawthorne Volunteer Ambulance Corps. provides non-emergency transportation service for the residents of Hawthorne. This service is intended for residents who are non-ambulatory or require oxygen therapy and need assistance to or from any local hospital.

Arrangements for transportation are made daily and will be scheduled for 7:00PM on the day of transportation 24 hour advance notification is required. If a 911 emergency occurs at 7:00PM the scheduled transportation will be delayed until the emergency is completed.

Residents requiring regular scheduled medical appointments such as dialysis should seek out private transportation services.

How to schedule transportation:

1. Call: 973.427.1818 and leave a message, 24 hour advance notice is required.
2. Your message should include the following:
    a. Your name and contact number
    b. The name and address of the resident to be transported.
    c. Which hospital does the resident need transportation?.
    d. Which date you are requesting transport at 7:00PM?
    e. Is oxygen needed for the transportation?
    f. Any Special considerations?
